Pusarla Venkata Sindhu is an Indian professional badminton player.

Throughout her career, She has won medals at multiple tournaments including Olympics.

She is currently 26 years old. She was born on 5 July 1995 in Hyderabad.

PV Sindhu did his schooling at Auxilium High School, Hyderabad and St. Ann’s College for Women, Hyderabad.

Her father, P.V. Ramana was a member of the Indian volleyball team that won the bronze medal in the 1986 Seoul Asian Games.

Her mother name is P. Vijaya. She also has a sister P. V. Divya.

Sindhu at the age of eight started playing badminton.

She first learned the basics of the sport with the guidance of Mehboob Ali.

In the under 14-years category, she won a gold medal at the 51st National State Games in India.
At the age of 14, PV Sindhu entered the international circuit.

She was a bronze medallist at the 2009 Sub-Junior Asian Badminton Champion
ships held in Colombo.

At the 2010 Iran Fajr International Badminton Challenge, she won the silver medal in the singles category.

In 2011, Sindhu won Maldives International Challenge in June and the Indo Asia International Challenge in July.

On July 7, 2012, she won the Asia Youth under-19 championship.

Sindhu was seeded 6th in the upcoming Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021.

Sindhu has reached the quarterfinals of Women’s Singles Badminton.

She becomes only the fourth player in Women’s singles badminton to claim two medals at the two consecutive Olympic games.

She was honoured with Padma Bhushan
Award in January 2020.

She was honoured with Padma Shri Award in March 2015.

She was received Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna Award on 29 August 2016.
