The Karnataka government has released instructions for utilising the Gruha Jyothi Scheme’s free power. Individuals must now register on the Seva Sindhu website- https://bescom.karnataka.gov.in/page/Gruha+Jyothi/en in order to take advantage of this programme and receive up to 200 units of free power. The fact that the plan is restricted to domestic usage and cannot be used for commercial or business purposes is an obvious issue. Additional fees will be applied during billing for any additional electricity used. No bills will be sent to the consumer if the amount of electricity used is less than the qualifying units covered by the programme.
